The Wyoming Catholic Ministries Foundation is committed to working through Christ to build a community of philanthropic patrons and sponsors who desire to invest in the crucial work of parishes, schools, and other Catholic institutions.
We aim to financially perpetuate the work of these entities by inspiring and enabling charitable individuals, families, and organizations to work together to provide for the long-term needs of the Catholic community of Wyoming.
Together, with our donors and partners, we hold an unwavering belief in the future of a thriving Wyoming Catholic community.
We manage endowed funds and promote endowment giving so that generous donors can support a wide range of programs, including Catholic schools, seminarian education and medical care for retired priests.
We provide financial support to select Catholic entities so they can grow our parish communities and advance faith and hope of Christ's promise throughout Wyoming. The Foundation raises funds and supports Catholic ministries with the hope that everyone will come to hear the word of Christ and celebrate in his joy and love for us.
In September of 1994, the Diocesan Finance Council recommended a feasibility study to examine the formation of a foundation for the Diocese of Cheyenne. A committee was formed, consisting of the Vicar for Canonical Affairs, the Moderator of the Curia, the Diocesan Finance Officer, the Diocesan Civil Attorney and the Diocesan Accountant, who conducted the study and made a report. After considering the report and much discussion, the Diocesan Financial Council and the College of Consultors recommended in 1997 that the Wyoming Catholic Ministries Foundation be formed. In March of 1998, the Articles of Incorporation were filed with the Secretary of State. The Wyoming Catholic Ministries Foundation was established as both a public juridic person in canon law and as a Wyoming nonprofit religious corporation.
