At WCMF, our core values draw us towards ministries and charitable organizations that focus on securing the complete spiritual, mental, physical, and financial well-being of the individual and the community. Although our focus is on the state of Wyoming, the healthy and Christ-inspired souls that we serve will shine as beacons of God’s grace and mercy no matter how far they may travel, within or without our borders. This is especially true of our beloved children, who may travel far and wide as they pursue their education and careers. Our children are the future of our Church and our world, and we owe it to them to give them the best opportunity for fulfillment and success that we can muster.
St. Joseph’s Children’s Home (SJCH) is one of our core partner ministries that wholeheartedly pursues this task. As one of only two residential juvenile psychiatric treatment facilities in the entire state of Wyoming, SJCH takes a holistic, hands-on approach to children who are sadly suffering from the effects of trauma and other mental health issues. They are fully committed to their mission, which is to facilitate the rehabilitation and healing of these bright young souls who are encountering obstacles to healthy spiritual and social development, and produce healthy, happy young adults well-equipped for continued growth and success. Through God’s grace, SJCH is witness to daily miracles of healing, and their staff devotes themselves to creating an environment of compassion, caring, and hope in the lives of children to whom those may be foreign concepts.
This summer, a representative of the leadership of St. Joseph’s Children’s Home, will be traveling around the state to speak with many of you at your parish homes. They will be speaking about the crucial services that SJCH provides, their continuing financial needs, and the ways that we can all support this incredible ministry that is doing so much good for the community in our state. Unfortunately, they are not able to travel to every single parish in Wyoming, but a personal letter to every household will be mailed before the end of the summer. The support of the entire Catholic community is dearly needed to ensure that children who are suffering are given the opportunity to experience the grace and mercy that we all enjoy as God’s children. I humbly pray that you consider how best to assist us as we hand the saving light of Christ’s promise to the next generations.
